Required for connection to power system: It shall be unlawful and illegal for any power company operating within the town limits to connect its power system to any new type of construction of any nature whatsoever without first being shown a permit for such construction, which permit shall have been signed by the town secretary.


The town building inspector has the authority to deny the permit for installation of culverts and/or catchbasins if, after on-site inspection, it is determined said culverts and/or catchbasins would impede the natural flow of drainage in the ditch's present condition. If such conditions exist, the permit shall be denied. The following rules and regulations agreed upon by the board of aldermen are as follows:

(1)A set of drawings stamped by an architect or civil engineer showing pipe size, elevations and catchbasins.

(2)Must have a licensed drainage contractor to do work.

(3)The permit fee and inspection fee shall be in an amount as established by the board of aldermen from time to time. An additional fee will be charged each time the work has to be re-inspected. All inspections must be completed before ditch is covered.

(4)All pipes must be new.

(5)A catchbasin must be installed every 40 feet of pipe and must meet engineer's specifications. All catchbasins will be reviewed on an as-needed basis.

(6)All catchbasins must have a 24 inch by 30 inch grate.

(7)All work done will be paid at the homeowner/property owner's expense.

(8)Any damages that occur to town property while work is being done will be at the homeowner/property owner's expense
