Building Permit Requirements:

  1. Building permit application
  2. Notice Of Commencement
  3. Owner Builder Statement/Affidavit
  4. Certified Survey or Plot/Site plan
  5. Energy forms. For properties in Choctawhatchee Electric Cooperative (Chelco) area, this can be obtained from Chelco.
  6. Florida product approvals & Cover letter
  7. Water/ sewer tap receipts or approved septic tank permit
  8. Fire impact fee receipt
  9. Electrical | Early Permanent/Temp Power | Mechanical | Plumbing & Gas | Utility | ROOF | Blower Door Test | Permits
    1. General permit: brick/stucco; door, garage door, & window change out; shutters; siding and soffit, & fascia permits
      1. Guide for Garages & Carports May need a Certified Foundation Survey
  10. Agricultural Acknowledgement Form (MUST be filed with Clerk of Court). Verify Agricultural use on Assessor's website.

Clearing Permit: Required only for commercial or residential parcels without development plans, (tree survey will be required). Exemptions will be for all vested residential lots or parcels and agricultural and silvicultural parcels


All exterior lighting within the sea turtle conservation zone, shall comply with the following standards:

(1)The point source of light or any reflective surface of the light fixture shall not be directly visible to an observer standing on the beach;

(2)The light shall not directly or indirectly illuminate any portion of the beach or dune system seaward of the crest of the primary dune; and

(3)The light shall not cumulatively illuminate any portion of the beach or dune system seaward of the crest of the primary dune.
