The minimum front yard setback shall be at least twenty-five (25) feet from the nearest corner of the dwelling or commercial structure to the right-of-way line. Where on-site sewerage disposal facilities will be utilized, the minimum lot size shall have a frontage of eighty (80) feet with a minimum area of twelve thousand (12,000) square feet. The Office of Public Health has authority to require larger lot sizes to avoid nuisance and hazards. The police jury requires that elevation certificates be issued to anyone who builds a structure in a flood zone.
The police jury does hereby set a minimum standard size of eighteen (18) inch culverts in parish ditches. Under special conditions, the juror and superintendent can determine the minimum size, larger or smaller. Further, every forty (40) feet, a cleanout is required.
Sec. 22-1. - Residential mechanical sewer treatment systems.
- For residential mechanical sewer treatment systems in the parish, there shall be installed at least one hundred (100) feet of effluent reduction (field line) directly behind the treatment plant, with the option of one hundred (100) feet of open ditch or another one hundred (100) feet of effluent reduction (field line) for the second one hundred (100) feet before reaching a parish road ditch.
