Amite County
Resources
Notes
Amite County does not require formal building permits. Rather, they require a "Development Permit," linked above, which is to be completed upon application for a 911 address. This permit is linked above, and also serves as a Floodplain Determination for the County. This was implemented in January 2023 due to Mississippi State legislation requiring that ALL counties and municipalities have a permitting process.
Amite County does not have an online Chancery Clerk option. Land records must be obtained in person at the Chancery Clerk's office, located in the Clerk's office at 243 Main St., Liberty, MS.
Customers will still need to obtain an onsite wastewater permit (known as a "perc test" or soil test in these areas) from the state department of health. Please follow this link to complete an application : https://apps.msdh.ms.gov/WasteWaterOnlineApp/PublicWasteWaterHome.aspx
